My name is Christopher Blackman residing in St. Vincent and The Grenadines. On July 1,2024 our beautiful nation was hit hard by Hurricane Beryl.
Life as we knew it quickly vanished. Homes, schools, resorts were badly damaged. Many lost roofs from their homes. Many have lost electrical power and water.
Food and water became essential, many have to be housed in shelters. School children’s lives have also been affected for the coming school terms.
Many lives have been uprooted especially in the Grenadines. Union Island has been 95% damaged. There is loss of electricity and can take months to be reinstalled.
The other Grenadine Island were not spared: Canouan, Bequia and Mayreau and Mustique… The private island of Palm Island was totally destroyed.
My goal is to raise funds to help out communities on the ground… I am working with a church located in Fountain in Kingstown.
The aim is to make sure household can be supplied with food and water. If the funds can stretch to help with materials to fix roofs.
The aid coming in as to go around but there is so much need. Working on the ground I know the people who are in need. Some are ashamed to ask for help. That is where I can be a voice for the ones who will not speak up because they are ashamed.
My record in the community has been to help whenever I am needed. In the past I have working with offering educational services to the children and producing a children television program along with interest of helping cancer children.
Any donation would be appreciated and welcome! Let us work together to build St. Vincent and The Grenadines back… These people have gone through so much…COVID and and volcano eruption at the same time a few years ago and now facing destruction from Hurricane Beryl!
